Tour Details

A comfortable private transfer is provided exclusively for you and your companions from anywhere in Barcelona or any point in Catalonia to the start of the trail. The drive takes approximately 3 hours.

At the trailhead, you can refill your water supplies, buy snacks, or treat yourself to ice cream. Then we begin walking, enjoying the green-turquoise waters of the Noguera-Ribagorcana River.

After 2 kilometers of easy trail, we reach the Sant Jaume Bridge — the first suspension bridge on our route. The metal structure with safety netting ensures a secure yet thrilling crossing against the backdrop of sheer cliffs and lush greenery.

The next 2 kilometers run along the cliffs — we enter the gorge’s narrow passage, where the river narrows and deepens, and the views become increasingly impressive. The trail is literally carved into the rock; we walk along the cliff edge, but the path is wide, safe, and equipped with handrails on one side. Benches are installed for resting, taking photos, and admiring the surrounding beauty. This section is easy, with no climbs or descents.

After the narrowest part of the gorge, we walk another kilometer, first ascending and observing the next bridge, the unusual rock formations, and the surrounding nature from above, then descending to the second suspension bridge — Siegue.

This bridge crosses the river, connecting Catalonia with Aragon, once a separate kingdom. The bridge is quite long — 35 meters — and hangs about 40 meters above the river. It is often windy, which adds an extra thrill. For visitors, this is not just a crossing but a key moment of the route — a boundary between two worlds and two landscapes.

Immediately after the bridge begins a short but physically active section of about 400 meters, where we climb the mountain. The effort is rewarded with views of the spread-out river, the gorge’s folds, and cliffs above which eagles and vultures soar.

From the mountain top, we descend along the Montfalco footbridges — wooden walkways attached to the sheer cliffs on the Aragonese side. This section is one of the most spectacular parts of the route: the trail literally “hangs” over the abyss, following the curves of the rock formations. Walking it is safe and requires no special preparation, though it may be psychologically challenging for those afraid of heights. In return, you are rewarded with unforgettable views of the gorge, the river, and pristine nature.

The Montfalco footbridges have two stages: the first — a vertical descent, the second — walking along the cliff. Both sections impress and offer breathtaking views.

The remaining 2+ kilometers pass through a beautiful pine forest with convenient picnic areas. We pass the Montfalco spring and finish the route at a small mountain hotel, where you can have a snack, enjoy a coffee, and take the return transfer.

The route is not circular, but at the hotel the driver will be waiting to comfortably take you back to Barcelona or any chosen location in Catalonia.
