Tour Details

This tour combines two rare and authentic destinations — Rupit and Tavertet, Catalan villages that have preserved their genuine medieval character. It’s a journey into an atmosphere where life moves slowly, and stone streets and historic houses look as if time stopped centuries ago.

The first stop is Tavertet, a village perched on the edge of a rocky cliff. From here, you’ll enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the Collsacabra Natural Park: mountain ranges, cliffs, green valleys, and the Sau Reservoir. We’ll also see the submerged chapel and the dramatic rock formations rising above the water. Here, we’ll take an easy 6 km walk along a flat, comfortable trail — perfect for slowpaced contemplation and photography. The scenery offers a sense of space and serenity that feels almost cinematic.

Next, the route leads to Rupit, one of the most charming and atmospheric medieval villages in Catalonia. Narrow cobbled streets, wooden balconies, 16th–17th century stone houses, a swaying suspension bridge, and small squares create a lively and authentic ambiance.

After exploring the village, we’ll continue with an 8 km circular trail. It leads to the highest waterfall in Catalonia, Salt de Sallent, and then to the Bassis viewpoint, which opens panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The trail crosses slightly more varied terrain but remains accessible and suitable even for families with children.

The entire day unfolds at a relaxed pace — with time for breaks, coffee, enjoying nature, or having lunch in a traditional restaurant. This is the perfect tour for travelers who want to discover rural Catalonia, feel the charm of small villages, and admire landscapes that look like scenes from a film.
